Resistance is Futile

After much digging my feet it and trying to resist the holiday itch, fall has finally arrived. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas here I come. Tonight I made my first pumpkin pie of the season. I LOVE pumpkin pie. That is something I have always thanked my dad for, my love for pumpkin pie. He instilled in my early on a love for the stuff. I even love it cold and not cooked yet. He always makes the pumpkin pies around our house. I have decided to start a new tradition. Emily starts listening to Christmas music on October 1st (secretly I do too, but shhhh don't tell Chris) I am going to bake the first pumpkin pie of the season on October 1st. Sounds like a yummy tradition to me and I think will totally help me get into the fall season better every year. Or maybe it will just satisfy my taste buds, well whatever the reason it will be good!





I have also learned over the years that making pies out of the 100% Pure pumpkin is the only way to go. The pie mix just isn't as good.

And lets not forget the cool whip!

The dang Nobody

When I was younger and we would tell our mom that we didn't do something or we didn't know who did something she would say "The dang Nobody". Well its official. That dang Nobody has struck our house. LOL I came home the other night and was cleaning up the kitchen and noticed that there was an apple on the counter that had a few little bites out of it. I asked the boys who's apple it was and guess what they said "Not mine." Sean quickly said "it looks old." I had to call mom and let her know that that dang Nobody had struck again.

Chris' Birthday (part 2)

Ok so I know you thought I was never going to post the "part 2" of Chris' birthday. So its 2 months later. You still want to hear about the fun things we did right? Right! So, for Chris' birthday we took the boys camping at Lake Cushman. This was our first camping trip with the boys and we had a BLAST. We went with Chris' brother Dave and his family and some friends in the stake. The lake was beautiful and the water was actually pretty clear. You could see the tree stumps and the boulders at the bottom. The boys had fun diving for rocks. It ended up being the hottest week of the summer. Couldn't have picked a better week. It was so hot that I had to jump in the water before I went to sleep to cool off. The boys had alot of fun playing with their cousins and riding on the boat. They never wanted to get off. Sean learned how to wake board and Scott learned how to knee board. They did AWESOME. Made it look like they were pros. We have decided that this is our favorite lake now. There weren't alot of people on the lake ever which was nice. Here are some of our pics from our trip.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS (part 1)

In our family we celebrate birthdays for 2 weeks. So last sat was the start of Chris' birthday. To kick it off right we went over to the Seattle Center to see the new Transformers in the IMAX. It was AWESOME! thanks for coming kiley Little did we know that its was The Bite of Seattle that weekend so we walked around alittle and looked at stuff, sat on the grass and listened to some music. Had a bite to eat and the watched a great show. It was a fun night!

4th of July

This is one of our favorite holiday's. We love to remember those who have fought for our freedom. This year was a quiet one for us. Chris and I slept in, watched movies, had lunch and went to watch the fireworks just the 2 of us this year. We found a great spot where we can see all the firework shows in Bremerton, Port Orchard, some Silverdale, and even Seattle shows all going at the same time. It was very cool. Hope everyone had a great 4th!

Alright Bloggers

HELP!! Clearly I don't like my blog . . .I never do anything with it. Where the heck do you guys all get your cute back grounds and layouts and all that junk. Would someone, for the love, please tell me how to make my blog something that even I would want to look at :)

Its been a long time!

Ok, its been 6 months since I updated my blog. WOW I suck. But I saw something I had to share. Yes I saw camels, 2 of them! There are some people that have camels on their property that live close to me. I have lived out here for 4 1/2 years and never knew. CRAZY! So when I found out I had to go take a look. They are actually very friendly. I can't remember their names but I was cracking up.
